All these posts about Ps5 pro but the real difference maker is a good TV. Base model is no slouch.

Pro was unnecessary. Even more so now. There are only a handful of games that are transformationally better. Very small handful.

All the Pro fanboys like to point at Rebirth. Sorry, the Pro fixing a broken game isn’t the win you think it is.

Getting a PS5 Pro is the same thing as picking up your money and throwing in the trash bin IMO, especially now. A $900 console with a 2018 CPU still limiting games. I almost fell for that, but my decision to keep the Slim was the best I could ever made.

Edit: let the downvotes from those who made that mistake begin.

Yep. No point in paying all that money for features you can’t even use or see

    4. Pre-rendered cutscenes looking good isn’t quite the flex you think. Spend all the money in the world on a tv and it won’t stabilize frame rates. But yea, I agree, base ps5 is more than fine.

Games on base are great. Do games on Pro make them better games? Nope. I can still play an incredible game on PS1 and a lousy game on PS5 pro.

I was like back in the old days, when hd gaming (720p) was becoming a thing and players were still playing on CRTs.

    7. True. After over a decade with my old 1080p TV I finally upgraded to a 4k TV with VRR and HDR and it was amazing the change. Which, lead to me buying a PS5 Pro

    8. Don’t know about you guys but I do see a difference going from base to pro. Especially in recent games like RE9 and Crimson Desert . The Pro version just looks so much cleaner and runs better .

But yes I will say that upgrading your TV is a bigger impact initially. When I went from a normal 4k LED to a Premium OLED it was quite the “wow” moment.

    9. For me and some others the pro wasn’t about improved visuals it was about better fps. Too many games are being released that can’t maintain 60 on the base and pro fixes that most of the time.

I still use my base model to play disc-based PS4 games too. Can’t do that on the Pro without shelling out another $100.

True, ps5 pro users be like “get an OLED to notice the difference”. Lmao

I got myself a pro for the additional storage and my wife showed interest in having her own PS, so I figured – ah, an excuse! I agree with you, the OG PS5 is still a very solid system on the right TV.

That’s what I always wondering about ppl that slam the base graphics like is your Monitor or TV adequate… cause LED don’t cut it any more you really need an OLED… I feel like if your have a good OLED and a base ps5 you should be good

I’m a dork about this stuff, so I will get a Pro because I want the best performance and quality possible. Yes, I do watch DF lol.

I certainly won’t be able to afford one anytime soon anyhow.

TV makes a tremendous difference for sure.

    15. yeah on the ps5 pro sub im seeing a lot of ppl with the pro but dont even have a screen that can fully utilize the pro features. its argue the jump from a non oled to an oled tv is a bigger jump than from the base ps5 to the pro

I bought a pro because of buying an OLED TV. There’s a noticeable difference. If I still had my LED TV I’d still have the base model because it’s great at what it does!

I got an LG G5 last year and the difference between it and a seven year old mid grade Sony was genuinely shocking.
