is this the beginning of the end? 😭

Got this nintendo 3ds XL on GAME for 119€ last month and I am so happy with it bc it is almost on mint condition (just some little scratches on the bottom shell) but now almost a month later I discovered this scratch/little bump on the right top side of it

I’ve been reading that there’s a problem with the hinge on the 3DS XL model and that it starts like this?

I’ve ordered a hard plastic shell (+protective films for the screens) for it but it won’t be arriving till the 2nd week of may. Will the hard plastic shell with the plastic supports on the sides help the hinge so it won’t break? I’m already very attached to this 3ds, I’ve always wanted this model 😢 I’m in love with it and I think I was very lucky on finding it on this condition at this price

I would also like to know if there is any other recommendations in order to take care of the hinge.
