Not hard at all, it’s the exact same process but just requires an extra step at the end if you want to change the language to english

Just download like google lens to help you translate if you don’t know your way around the system and it’s cake

I modded my 2DS 3 years ago that I bought it off from Japan, it’s alright process but if you do not follow the guide properly like I did, you’re gonna be in very messy and headache inducing ride like it took me about 3 days to actually mod my 2DS even then I asked few people in discord about it like the hotkey to bring up the menu by going to settings and whatnot. These days, I kinda forgot the process of it since I sold mine but yeah I can say just follow closely as possible and don’t watch any outdated guides since it will bring more problems to the table.

It’s one of the easier consoles to mod. They have SD card slots and are no longer supported/updated so there are repeatable methods
