      With the complete and total lacklustre experience that is Sony security, I’ll take a hard pass.

      Communication is vague enough for now, if it just means no voice chat or message features, I’ll be all good. I don’t play MP games to chat with strangers anyway.

      Apple did this here in the UK with its last update, it stated it was a ‘legal UK requirement’ which was actually a lie, because it is not, yet.

      This has been happening on all the platforms in the UK. Steam and Xbox are both asking for ID. Xbox asked me for ID otherwise I won’t be able to use my account at all and even YouTube has been sending me messages asking me to add ID to my account.

      I don’t talk to anyone anyway, even if I am playing online.

      This whole ‘digital safety’ thing is complete bull shit. I don’t trust these third party companies at all. They’ve not exactly instilled faith that they can be trusted to do what they’re supposed to and not keep any sensitive data.

      Besides since my account is as old as the PSN. I shouldn’t need verification. Common sense would say I’m old enough.

      Also in the email it states to comply with “global” regulations they are doing this, so don’t think it’ll just be the UK either.

      I guess I won’t be chatting online. I won’t conform in anyway with this attack on freedom. So let the purge continue. I will find better things to do with my time. Resist this folks it’s a slippery slope. It has nothing to do with children’s safety. It’s about tracking and control.

      I’ve had my PS account for close to 18 years now, used a bank card and credit card in my name for purchases. Ridiculous that this is needed, common sense needs to be applied at some point.

      It’s so sad, I just miss the PS3 days where people would still genuinely play with a mic and you’d get to learn new people almost every match you played. Nowadays that doesn’t really happen anymore, at least I feel like it.

      Verifying your age to use chat features though is an incredibly stupid decision to me, what’s the point of that?

      Joke is on them, I only play single player offline games so they don’t get to verify my age. It’s total BS for those that will be affected, though.

      This was META’s true goal in bypassing privacy and having all of your data to line their pockets more. It’s sickening how corrupted government officials worldwide are going with this agenda. Everyday I feel like we’re getting closer to a Minority Report like future.

      Playstation are taking a Ubisoft style approach to it. They’ve rolled the system out before making sure the process actually works first.

      It’s been nagging me all day and then timing out whenever I try to do it.

      I’ve no interest in communicating with anyone, but it won’t allow me into the app until I do it.

      My PSN account is old enough to vote. If (when) this nonsense comes to the US they better use their brains to exempt me from the process. Same with Xbox.
