I was repairing the GamePad screen when I accidentally snapped the lever that holds the ribbon down to display the screen. Is there a solution to this because I am freaking out right now (I lost the lever IDK where it is)

    1. i would maybe see if anyone else here offers better solutions, but if you have kapton tape, i’d use that to hold it in place. and if you don’t have kapton tape… well, if you’re doing repairs of these sorts, you should definitely buy some for the future anyways.

Can’t you put it back together? I’m not sure about this type of connector, sometimes the lever can be put back, sometimes not.

      REGARDLESS, do not panic!

This is very easily repairable by a GOOD electronic’s technician, so maybe find one near you and they will be able to replace the connector (should be a <5min job for someone who knows what they’re. doing).

      Just don’t ruin it anymore.

Note: You (or the technician) will most likely need to source another connector, which should be easy on aliexpress or something, but may take a few days to arrive.

    4. I snapped mine in half and was fortunate enough that I could put it back in with a pair of tweezers and it held itself no problem, but I would suggest buying something like this https://ebay.us/m/9MSAcr, taking the grey folding part off and putting it on your gamepad’s motherboard, or replacing the connector entirely

I just replaced the gamepad board after I did that. I don’t have enough experience is surface mounted tabs to fix it without making it worse. If you know anyone with a 3d printer, designing a bar that can be held in place with that nearby screw would probably work.

    6. Put it in place, kapton tape over it and a piece of foam or something “sponge like” over the tape so it holds by pressure. It’s not the best solution but it may work.
