Steam is literally only a monopoly because every other competitor is actually so incompetent that they take themselves out of the competition. Steam wins by simply just being a good, consumer friendly company.

Steam isn’t a monopoly. There are other game fronts that people can still use but choose not to.
Last time i checked Valve hasn’t gobbled up its competition to be the only person on the block. While they acquired game studios, steam definitely didn’t acquire other store fronts.

I mean…. If every other company gives services as good as steam does I’d simp for them too. Too bad none of them are anywhere near as competent as steam.
Yeah, they run a serious business… But come on, “big tech”? They have a 350 or so employees, give or take a few contractors. Their headcount is notoriously low. Which I think is part of the problem when they try to launch and maintain multiple products at once. They are nowhere near Apple, Google or Amazon.
