I’m a high school teacher and I have seen so many students playing Tomodachi Life after school and during free periods. Many kids said they bought a switch for it because they saw it on TikTok.

I know PS5 games are bought at a high ratio of digital games, but I was not expecting Pragmata to be that low! If digital games are a ratio of 87% digital to 17% physical (last estimate from 2023) that means 211k in Japan? But I expected it to be in the 400k range
And Tomodachi being at 565K! That is a lot, more than I expected tbh. I knew it’d be popular, and I’m having fun playing it. But I thought it’d be in the 300k range and ww be in the 1 mil range. It’s gotta be in the 2-3 mil range world wide at this point

For comparison, Pokopia sold a little more than 900k physical copies in Japan so far.
Kinda funny how many people doubt this game huge appeal and success.

Hope this motivates them to update more the game, it’s very fun already but they could readd some requested features

Wow, more than half of Pokopia in week one. I figured this title was a bit more niche.
I’m glad people enjoy it, I will be stuck on Pokopia for a long time to come I think.

People still out there buying the OLED. Love that console but why buy it when the Switch 2 is just a bit more?

Though this game isn’t for me, the trailers were hilarious and I’m glad people are eating it up. Very unique game.

Ngl, this is my favorite Switch 2 game so far (by that I mean game launched since Switch 2 was release, I know it’s for both 1/2).

so far i’ve been enjoying it even more than pokopia, which is crazy. I never even played the original game. I am having so much fun being creative with my partner, making funny mii’s and coming up with absurd adlibs. We play everyday for like a half hour and laugh the whole time.

Imaginez si Nintendo avait réservé Tomodachi à la Switch 2. On aurait assisté à un deuxième mois de Mars en Avril !

FWIW I was looking at later life game sales for 3DS, DS, PS2, and PS1, and none of those had a 500+K launch week more than 8 years after system launch. Possibly the only other system to have one (several more than one actually) was Game Boy, which had a big late 90s renaissance thanks to Pokémon and the GBC.

Do games that launched as a bundle with a console count in the sales for the game individually as well?
