    dead 3ds xl battery, where to get a new one

    basically my 3ds xl battery became fat and can’t fit or charge anymore, i’m just looking for a reliable replacement for a battery so i would appreciate any help (and yes i do know it’s dusty)

      the link that ClassicTreacle4426 posted is what you want OP. also you can recycle old bloated batteries at best buy if you have one near you. (and if not, google “electronic recycling centers near me” to find a place)

      That’s some baaaaaaaaad swelling, and is **LITERALLY* a bomb waiting to go off. Handle with *EXTREME* care and find somewhere nearby that will properly and safely dispose of it!

      I would recommend Ifixit for their replacement batteries. They are legit and just bought two to replace my OG 3DS and NEW 3DS XL batteries.

      Anything else from Amazon is a dice roll because they’re all non-legit. Also, don’t recommend getting any with the LARGER CAPACITY Milliamps, reading reviews shows they’re all bunk.

      If you want to safely discharge a lithium battery you can make a high salt water solution and stick it in there. Obviously in the middle of your drive way or away from anything that is flammable as an extra precaution. I do this to my 2500mah RC car and drone lithium batteries that are damaged or swelling. Take it to an Ewaste facility, the fire department by me also takes swollen batteries like this that pose a fire risk.

      I had a buddy whos garage burned up from a swollen battery, taking all of his collectables, rc cars, pc, and bikes with it.

      The Amazon batteries are actually pretty solid for DS models, they haven’t failed me for my DSi, 3DS or my Gameboy Advance SP yet.

      Get a Cameron sino battery, I tried ifixit and it swelled just after a year, my original 3ds battery from 2011 has better battery life. Supposedly Cameron sino has batteries that are true to the size on the listing as opposed to fodder like xyab batteries, and they specialize in battery replacements for odd and decommissioned cameras and stuff.       I got 2 batteries from aliexpress and they arrived in like 3 ish weeks. And thry work great. They hold more than my old original battery

      If any of your electronics that have batteries in them do that, do NOT use them and throw the battery out ASAP. That is a fire hazard.
