Not too surprising. I have a decent computer and I still get massive dips in capital cities.

It’s to be expected there will be some hiccups if you’re wandering through hubs like Limsa. There are a ton of people on screen doing their thing. As long as the actual game content runs well it’s good.

Nobody who wants to play this on handheld cares too much, the Steam Deck can’t even play it that great. But it’s functional and enjoyable. We care about having to pay two subs for the same game. I get that YoshiP and Kiryu made it VERY clear this was a Nintendo decision (and it was obvious they hated it), but let’s be real that the Nintendo ‘deal’ killed this and framerate doesn’t matter.

    4. Yeah completely unavoidable.

My PC goes from 120 fps to below 60 fps while in areas like Limsa where there’s a ton of people. Can’t really be helped. It’s a huge load on the cpu but it’s not a big deal.

So if they are hitting 30fps stable even in large cities, I assume duties and battle content will be hitting 60fps no problem.

You know whats funny? Being this open about it from the offset makes me MORE positive it’s still gonna run well.

More concerned you need a second subscription to play this on PC and a Switch…

    7. There’s not much you can do in MMOs when it comes to places people gather. If the rest of the game is fine then whatever.

Have a feeling that it’s probably Frontline related, definitely recall a few instances of early battles falling into single digits on base PS4

    9. Who is yoshi -p? I keep seeing the name

Edit: Downvoted for asking questions. I’ll never understand some people….

    10. I don’t think the game is going to have trouble running on Switch 2. I played for years on PS4 before I swapped to PC and it was perfectly fine. Now, hunt trains where there’s like 200 players might have some trouble, but actual main content will be 100% fine.

And for anyone interested in trying out the game that’s curious if playing on console or controller is a hindrance, no, it isn’t. Even after swapping to PC I still use controller and I’ve done the hardest content in the game on controller as melee dps. And there’s usually a healer on controller in the Ultimate raid world race every time. (they’re an AST, the hardest job to play on controller) All fights are designed to be completed on controller. Though you might need to bust out mobile Discord if you plan on joining a static group for the hardest content.

    11. Honestly, I want this so I can play events when I’m away from my PlayStation or do small stuff like fishing

    12. Yoshi-P has always showed great honesty and transparency when talking about his projects, so to be honest if he says we shouldn’t worry then I believe him.
