Sounds like they’re actually leaning into DualSense and 3D audio a lot. I remember how good the 3D audio felt in Returnal, so hoping this hits in a similar way.
Would be cool if more devs kept pushing the controller instead of treating it like a gimmick. Game’s out Friday so I guess we’ll see.

Would be a fuller use of it if there was an option for some gyro aiming, which sadly isn’t included. Returnal did lean into the adaptive triggers and decently strong vibration though. Looking to pick up Saros when it eventually comes down from £70 which feels a bit steep to me.
Returnal was one of the best uses of the Dualsense and they have had 5 years to improve on that even more.
As in most cases 1st party is where you see the best uses of specific controller technology like the Dualsense. We have seen it with Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart, Astro Bot, Returnal, etc. Third parties don’t uaually adapt specific console technology since they are programing their games for multiple types of inputs (PC, Switch, Xbox, PS5). You’ll see some with adaptive triggers, but not many 3rd parties will use it to it’s complete potential.
I got an modified controller with paddles but with clicky stop triggers, would that be a problem ?
Keep it simple if it broke don’t fix it
Well it’s made by a PS Studios developer, you’d hope so
Astrobot, Returnal, empty space, Demon’s Souls, a whole lot more empty space, then everyone else, are the official rankings of Dualsense usage for a game
No doubt since Returnal did it so well
So was Returnal, so this doesn’t surprise me. This seems to be the only company that is taking full advantage of the Dualsense and I’m here for it.
Returnal has been the only game that has made me go “wow” on a ps5 and that’s a damn shame.
I haven’t gotten a chance to play Saros yet, but my favorite experience with the DualSense has been playing Death Stranding 2 with it because the haptics change based on terrain and I thought the mic was going to be cringey sounding but actually added to my play through.
I still don’t understand why some Devs do well with the dual sense features and others just can barely make a difference. Returnal is one of the only games that actually feels amazing
Gran Turismo 7 also used the dual sense amazingly. Feeling the engine and gear shifts is fantastic .
Crazy how underused the DualSense is, even amongst first party titles
Ratchet and Clank, a Rift apart! Is another notable haptic legend, and IMO a great showcase of the PS5’s SSD game mechanics as well!
A lot of people sleep on old Ratchet, and Clank! I implore anyone who’s curious to give it a shot! A lot of fun! Especially passing the paddle with the kiddo’s.
This, Returnal and Control.
These games and Astro Bot. Otherwise DS features have been largely ignored.
That’s no surprise since Returnal had amazing dual sense uses.
I remember feeling those rain drops for the first time via the haptics on DualSense when Returnal launched and being so excited to see how the controller would evolve. Such a simple but effective little trick
Returnal was and has remained the best use of the Dualsense I’ve had 5 years after release. Cant wait to see how Saros expands on it!
I guess the developers that made Returnal finally have some competition
Returnal (and now Saros) is still the only franchise behind Astro’s Playroom/Astro Bot that uses the Dualsense controller the best. Haven’t played any game that comes close to these two franchises.
Yeah I went back to play Returnal for the first time in years, and really missed how well Dualsense was implemented. So I 100% believe it.
Not surprised. To date, returnal is the game that best did anything cool with the duelsense.
Which is disappointing since the console is by no ways “new” now
Control Ultimate Edition would get my vote in terms of effective usage of haptics and adaptive triggers. Cannot wait for Control Resonant!
With lack of gyro aiming it is also one of the most dissapointing ones…
