So recently I went out with my brother around the lake for a day just walking around and having a good time. I remembered that I happened to keep it in my back pocket while I was out because I just forgot to take it out of my pockets when we started walking. Point of the story, I ended up slipping in the lake and getting dunked all the way up to my chest lol. After a 15 min drive back to the house I ended up taking the backplate off and setting it on top of my pc case thinking the warmer air would help it get aired out quickly. Lo and behold, 2 days later I mustered up the courage to put it all back together and power it up and….it worked!!! I was pretty suprised since the lake I fell in was super muddy and dirty (it had been raining the last couple days, to be expected) It ended up getting water damage on the screens, the circle pad being super scratchy (I tried to use compressed air to get the dirt out and rubbing alcohol but I didn’t get any luck with it, plus I find myself not using it that much)and the game cartridge reader doesn’t work anymore from what I could tell. Other than that it’s perfectly fine and I haven’t ran into any other issues. To say I got lucky I believe is an understatement in my book

HOW THE HELL DOES IT STILL TURN ON?!
let it dry and replace the screens if you need to
Stop playing games!!!! Turn it off and if ure good enough with electronics, disassemble it completely and wash everything with 99% ipa. If not, take it to some service shop as soon as you can. It might work now, but it might corrode inside and then it’s dead
Reminds me of the time I left my 3DS outside for the entirety of a very rainy week. When I found it, there was still water sloshing in the screen yet somehow that thing worked for years afterwards
How the fuck did you get out of the water temple so quickly?
It got wet inside. I would leave it off and bring it to a shop for an assessment. If not treated it could quickly corrode until it dies.
