Guess it depends on how well received and popular the movie/TV adaptations will be?
Definitely worked for Fallout, but that franchise sold well regardless.

I’m sorry but no. Alan Wake and Control are not TLOU or The Witcher where the games were tremendously successful and TV/movie deals were a great supplement. It’s not a strong brand sadly – which will be made all the more obvious when Control Resonant fails to meet sale expectations.

Not enough star power behind Remedy, even in the gaming community they don’t sell commercial level numbers

I do agree with his assessment. Both fantastically well put together games woth excellent mechanics and stories.
Difficult genre to get mass buy in for though. Hopefully a good TV show/ movie will do that.

I believe all of their games come to PS+, so most of us just wait until they come there.

The stories of both games really aren’t that good. They have a rather unique way to do storytelling, the worlds are almost always wonderfully built; but stories from series like Silent Hill 2 are talked about way more than either Alan Wake 2 or Control.
*If* I had the money, I think I’d want to develop a brand new game instead of relying on TV series/movies to push the sales of my older games – but that’s just me.

Couldn’t get into either one. Tried multiple times.
