They made Castlevania a girl? Ugh, so woke…
(this is sarcasm by the way)

I have no idea if it’s at all possible, but it’d be neat if the next Smash game had Trevor and Sonia instead of Simon and Richter to represent Castlevania.

This is a prime example why people shouldn’t be stressing the lack of the Switch emblem on games showcased for Xbox today like Persona 4 or 6. This game as an example is already announced and confirmed for Switch 2 but if you based solely on Xbox showcase you would assume we weren’t receiving it.

Will reserve judgment for when I play it, but it just doesn’t look or feel like Castlevania *at all.* It looks more like Hades/Dead Cells. And the pause/screen shake during combat seems like it will get annoying.
Hope to be pleasantly surprised once I get my hands on it.

The artstyle feels very Marvel comic to me, which personally is not the vibe I want from Castlevania. Also just seems to be very heavy on screen shakes, visual FX and slow-mos.
I am a big Metroidvania fan (Symphony of the Night is one of my all-time favorite games) and am sure the game will be good, but sometimes I feel like less is more. I think too much flashiness can take away from the immersion of the world and soundtrack.

It’s not an announcement trailer. The game was announced months ago. This was a release date trailer.
It was announced in February.

Honestly the combat in this trailer made me a lot less excited for this game, but I’ll wait to see, I also hate how a lot of metroidvania trailers are just combat supercuts, a game about exploration really shouldn’t look like a boss rush when promoting itself

Mmm the combat seems smooth… but I still have to get accustomed to the graphic style

Looks good. Evil Empire is a solid dev too!

This looks extremely inspired by Silksong which is extremely inspired by Castlevania

Anybody else not feeling the art style?
