Before the iconic PS logo dropped in 1994, designer Manabu Sakamoto went through dozens of wild concepts.

    From abstract geometrics and interlocking blocks to completely different 'P' and 'S' layouts…. all trying to capture that 3D depth on a flat surface.

    The final version nailed the optical illusion with the red P casting a colorful S shadow, using a strict 4-color palette where:

    Red = Passion

    Green = Excellence

    Yellow = Happiness

    Blue = Patience
