    1. You wouldn’t start the official Minecraft server binary provided as a free download by Microsoft/Mojang.

    2. i wonder if its more how they are used than not willing to “open up” for users to have private servers. Like say if someone does something awful in a private server, will the headline be “Something horrible happened on a **private** minecraft server, not affiliated with MSFT whatso ever” or ” Something horrible happened on minecraft server”? We already know most people just look at clickbait headlines without reading into context, i would wager lawyers are trying nip these at the bud so no questions/explanations would be needed. And vulture lawyers probably find some way for MSFT to be “responsible” for those private servers too.

      Of course. the ESA don’t need to actually know anything about games. They just need to convince the dumbass boomers who never picked up a game in their live that it isn’t legal.
