The title does not lie. Recently i bought a n3ds xl, pearl white, which to my delight turned out to be a dual ips (i did NOT check out the serial number to decide which of the 3 n3ds the seller was offering had the highest odds of being a dual ips, thank you).
However, i noticed a little something, which i included in the first image. When buying i figured hey! Im a tech savy guy! No way i'd mess up a top lens change, since thats CLEARLY on the lens, not the lcd. Well lo and behold, that shit WAS on the lcd display (2nd, 3rd image). Panic and fear took over my body, an adrenaline rush i haven't felt since the 80s hit my body, followed by an amount of cortisol that could kill a horse. I reached out to my right hand man, gemini (dont make fun of me the glue was cooling down man i had to think quick), and asked if i could somehow do something about this, which i could not, as i was told.
However, in the midst of this crisis, i remembered Sun-Tzu's words; "If you know the enemy, and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles" and while i wasn't too well acquainted with the LCD panel, i definitely knew myself and the L, R, start and select button of the console.
With the patience of a shaolin monk and precision of a Swiss watch technician, i put it all back together, in a fashion which would've been studied for centuries to come, had i have known what awaited me and recorded this experience.
After having done the procedure, i turned on my 3ds, knowing i was probably gonna get greeted with the same visible damage on the top screen, really it felt like i just asked Mike Tyson to hit me in the face with everything he has and i was just waiting for it to land. But no. The 3ds God decided otherwise, he decided to reward me. I can't see it!
On a fully 1 colored, full brightness screen (image 4) it's completely invisible. I can only see it slightly when the console is off, but it's kinda like those little floater things i see in my eye, i see it up untill i look right at it, and no angle helps me see it better.
