I wish I could find some joy in this, but truly this is the worst state I’ve ever seen the industry in. So many ruined livelihoods, so many fractured and shuttered dev teams, so many franchises I loved that may never get another game, all because some massive companies set their expectations too high and bit off more than they could chew. Sucks.

Fuck yeah nintendo! Was on the fence for the switch 2, but now getting it. Just waiting for a sweet zelda edition to drop.

I don’t really think you can blame current Microsoft’s Xbox division for what they have to do now (selling off/spinning off developers).
Xbox was run horribly for years. They went all in on the idea of being the Netflix of games and it failed. The new leadership had to do something or the ship would just keep sinking.
I’m not saying it doesn’t suck. I’m just saying at this point Xbox has to make some drastic changes to stay in the game.
That seems different than Sony being on top and just saying “nah fuck discs”.
