You add it to steam? Why? 1 launcher is already bad enough, why go through 2?
honestly i don’t even have epic installed, i just claim and that’s it. Of course that might change if they actually give away a game i can’t get otherwise

Step 3: realize you now own the game on a platform you’ll never open again.

Step 1: get the free game of the week
Step 2: buy it on Steam (or anywhere not on Epic) anyway

I use heroic for my epic, gog, and Amazon games personally even on Windows

Mine is extra steps since I’m running Linux.
Step 1: Open Heroic Launcher.
Step 2: Choose Epic Game Store.
Step 3: Claim product through store.
Step 4: Install through the multi-store launcher of Heroic Launcher.
Step 5: Add it as a “Non-Steam Game” so I can use Proton easily.

As someone with a large free library on epic interested in playing them on my steam link, does anyone know how well this works?

It works well for most games.

I only have it because of rocket league. If I could figure out a way to get it fully on steam, I’d delete epic off my computer lol.

Still opens Epic. 😂

I accumulated a few games on epic over the years. Always signed into epic with Steam. Changed my Steam name and it completely deleted my epic account and support wouldn’t do anything about it. Lost all my games and progress. Fuck epic.

Maybe I’m frugal, but I actually don’t mind using Epic just to play some free games. I’ve gotten some gems over the years that I wouldn’t have purchased otherwise. Yeah, two launchers suck, but it’s no cost to me so. I don’t mind.

Step 2 is usually closing epic store because the game was barely worth adding to your library let alone installing it.

I dont care about free games anymore, I care about free time and energy to enjoy any game.

1) get free game of the week
2) forget you have it
3) realize you have some good games there 2 years later

The only reason I use epic is because I bought satisfactory when it first came out. I will eventually buy it on steam and finally delete epic games launcher.

Just pirate the game bruh

I almost feel bad for them, but then I remember Tim Sweeney being salty about anything steam does & spending money on giving free games instead of making their store & launcher better.

For me it’s:
Step 1: Get Epic’s free game of the week.
Step 2: Forget about it for 6 months.
Step 3: Buy it on Steam sale for $5.
Step 4: Install and play on Steam.
