Its a little formulaic with how many optional systems there are to engage with, but its fundamentally a good game. Its basically a Farcry game in disguise, but if you are a fan of the movies, it really does transport you to Pandora. The environment really is second-to-none in terms of open world immersion. Play on the 40fps mode if you have a 120hz vrr screen to really get the most of it.

edit: also the bundle comes with 3? pretty sizable dlcs (2 expansions and 1 proper dlc i think) so its a great deal for the amount of content, but the base game should be available through the highest tier of gamepass if you just want to try it out before committing.

Played an hour of so of the base game with game pass. Got bored very quickly and moved on

It’s like an far cry game with boring weapons and a cluttered map that’s boring to navigate

    3. If you’re a fan of the Avatar movies and world and enjoyed the Far Cry games you won’t be disappointed

Absolutely loved every minute of FoA and never wanted it to end, including the DLC’s and movie tie-in expansion. It’s a great game. Online co-op too!

    5. On console you should be fine. Its basically a decent far cry game in the avatar world. I tried playing it on pc a few times and I just couldnt get it to run and look good at the same time. Either the picture was way to noisy on lower graphics settings or the framerate would be too low for my taste on really high settings.

    6. By the end of it I admit I wasn’t enthralled by the story and characters but overall the story wasn’t what pulled me in, it was the beautiful world and fun gameplay. I look forward to diving back into it honestly.

To that point; I am quite tired of games/gamers feeling like they need a 10/10 Oscar worthy story everytime or it’s automatically trash or something. The story was serviceable but fun is ultimately what I care about more than anything. I have played I think most of the Far Cry games, but I def have not beaten them all and that helps with not feeling fatigue from this type of formula. Same with Asassins Creed games. Shadows is the most polarizing and hated it seems but it is easily my favorite next to Origins 🤷‍♂️

I played it through Ubisoft+ on launch and found it pretty underwhelming.

If you like Far Cry and Avatar you’ll most likely have a good time playing it.

    8. Love it 200hrs into the game one of my favorites it’s not Far Cry with blue people. Still very fun

    9. Knowing Ubisoft, that price will tank come the end of the year or so. I would wait.

I mean it’s a good game. But it all looks the same. The bow play is pretty bad and it’s just a far cry game with Navi. The story is bland as hell. The quests are stuck in a replay loop and all. It’s still a good game but can be boring a repetitive

    11. Great game. Play this maxed out on a PC with a good OLED and it will change how you see games

I tried this on both consoles, and if you have a PS5 pro, play it on there. Performance is more stable and the image quality is higher. A series X is better than the base PS5 tho I’ve noticed. Fun game, but its niche and you have to have patience and a love for Avatar to really enjoy it.
