    1. Can’t wait for them to bleed money on this then come crawling back in a few years.

    2. It would be mostly their loss, but I guess the new management will have to learn the lessons all over, most PC players do not like their store, like it’s even worse than Epic, and that’s despite all Windows users having it installed by default even if we don’t use it.

    3. This isn’t true.

Jez Corden: I never said Xbox is considering pulling out of Steam btw.

Did anyone actually read the article?
      MS didn’t say that.
A dude from the site Windows Central said in a podcast that MS was going to put themselves in a position where they’d have a window where they COULD walk away from Steam.
But later on this same page he also states he really doubts MS would leave Steam.

ie clickbait title from an online source trying to drive traffic to their site.

    5. I get the line of logic, but I don’t understand Microsoft’s belief that the Xbox Helix as a bridge device is going to be the main selling point. There’s a very low chance of a massive amount of PC players ditching their computers for the Helix (whatever it releases as) unless it’s just functionally a computer ala the Steam Machine.

The decision seems to be hinged on that specific device doing well and getting a lot of traction. For PC gamers specifically, I just don’t see it.

    6. If they end up making their own launcher, *and* that launcher isn’t dogshit, I don’t mind too much. But thus far every time I’ve had to open another launcher (Epic, Battlenet, Boobisoft Connect) it makes me want to avoid those games and avoid buying games there, so the track record isn’t great.

You know consoles are planning to have PC-like pricing if they’re suddenly seeing PC as competition. Before, they thought PC was that expensive thing that they were half the price of. Now they’re uncomfortably close and expecting people to buy both is becoming obviously silly for the majority.

    8. Microsoft is going to try the same fuck’n thing epic did which was throw insane amounts of money at the problem, watch. get ready for more xbox app exclusives, “free” ms store games, timed exclusives etc..

it’ll end the same if not worse cuz xbox doesnt have a fortnite to fall back on. games will get little to no attention until they’re released on steam.

“Customers may walk away from Xbox as they insist on not selling to them”

    10. They could call it something like Games for Windows Live or something, sounds like a guaranteed success.

    11. So their hairbrained plan is to move towards PC, but to make sure it stays closed off, basically the EA/Origin, Epic/Epic store, Blizzard / [Battle.net](http://Battle.net) way of thinking which means competing against Steam as opposed to being a part of it. They truly are dooming this brand, such a shame, this only hurts all gamers.
