      Damn, I really wanted to do a pointless stealth section with Jean Grey to break up the action that the game is known for!!

      I don’t want to be some powerless reporter like MJ, but I’d love to play an Omega-level telekinetic like Jean Grey. It’s apples and oranges.

      I guess a lot’s changed since that old Insomniac leak, because it stated that Jean was gonna be playable.

      It’s funny how the one time where playing another character wouldn’t be so bad they decide against it, but they doubled down on the MJ missions

      Yeah but Jean Gray would actually be fun to play as, unlike MJ. Not a bad idea to just focus on Wolverine though tbh.

      Wrong lesson learned. No one complained about playing as Catwoman in Arkham City since she’s an asskicker in her own way.

      The MJ missions just weren’t fun.

      The best MJ sections in Spider Man are the Harry Osbourne reveal in Spider Man 1, I love a good evolving visual narrative. Then when Peter goes to sleep and the suit takes over. Seeing the horror that is happening with the symbiote suit in Spider Man 2, I love having the more ordinary perspective with what’s happening to Peter.

      They’re so traumatized by the MJ backlash that they couldn’t help but overcorrect. We didn’t hate playing as other characters. We hated playing as MJ. Huge difference. Jean Grey has actual powers. Could’ve been fun, she’s right there in the trailer, stunning enemies with her mind, and now we’re just supposed to watch. But sure, just give us more claws.

      Very intelligent. When you have a powerless normal person, force sections where you have to play as them.

      When you have another super powered character, dont bother lol

      Don’t put stealth section into your game if it’s not a stealth game

      Actually don’t put any non “main gameplay style” sections because they almost always suck

      Ofc they force me to play as one of the most annoying love interests in superhero media multiple times but won’t let me play as freaking Jean Grey while using her as a love interest and plot device lol. Why is she even here if she isn’t playable

      I would have liked to play as Jean tbh. Telekinesis is such a fun weapon to use in games, ragdolling people around is always a good time.

      Can’t help but feel like they might have overcorrected slightly, especially since some previews are saying that Wolverine’s gameplay is solid but could possibly get stale after a while.

      Jean grey is a superhero so it would’ve been fine if it wasn’t overdone, mary jane though was a terrible decision to make her playable.

      I mean it would have been interesting and fun to have a brief moment to play Jean. In SM2, I enjoyed the Venom section and the MJ horror section where she is being chased by a sleeping symbiote Peter. It was an interesting new perspective to see evil Spidey from another POV.

      The weird part is if they did have other characters i imagine itd be pretty cool. So far supporting casts are jean grey and mystique? Vs mary jane.

      That’s a big trend-break for Insomniac. They’ve had sections like the MJ missions in all of their games except for Miles Morales and Song of the Deep.

      I don’t hate the MJ segments like other people do. But they weren’t needed. That said, I’d love to be able to play as Jean Grey or Mystique.

      Yeah, I don’t know why they thought giving MJ a taser gun in the second one was going to make people love her section of the game. They should’ve seen the complaints about her sections in the first game and just scrapped them. You can still make her impact feel great without that.
