I received a slightly used but in box 3DS xl and some games for it I went online and that model is selling for between £400 – £1000

Not worth £400, let alone £1000. Pricecharting has them selling for ~[$370](https://www.pricecharting.com/game/pal-nintendo-3ds/new-nintendo-3ds-xl-animal-crossing-happy-home-designer-edition#completed-auctions-cib) complete in box.
It’s the happy home designer console. Pretty much what it says on the box. It’s not worth 1000 but it is one of the more sought after models as it’s a cute animal crossing style and it’s the new XL model. The amiibo card was to be used with the happy home designer game.
Always love when people who don’t care about the 3ds get one for a good deal and then come here asking how much money they can make off of it. Just look up “sold” listings on eBay. God forbid you sell it to someone who will enjoy it for years to come, for $20 less than you could’ve gotten off of it
