recently got this A Link Between Worlds 3DS XL (the old 3DS XL)
my last DS was a DS Lite back when they were new, but it was unfortunately destroyed a couple months later when my brother somehow sat on it after it ended up under the couch cushions, so I didn't get to play that much
looking for game recommendations! i already have Ocarina of Time 3D, and i'm planning on getting the other Zelda games available for DS, Mario Kart 7, and maybe some Pokémon games.
open to pretty much any other suggestions! I am also open to any New 3DS games as well, as i plan on getting one of those eventually, but i got this as i couldn't pass it up

Rhythm Heaven (DS) for the DS and Megamix for the 3DS
And if you can get your hands on it and you have a GBA slot on your DS, Rhythm Tengoku for the GBA

Excellent choice of a 3ds. This was actually my first one and I’ve loved it ever since.
ALBW, Fantasy Life, Pokemon X/Y, Mario 3D Land, Fire Emblem Awakening, Majoras Mask 3D, Kid Icarus Uprising, and Kirby Planet Robobot.
The best games on the system are all jrpgs which as a genre can be hit or miss.
If you like jrpgs there’s dragon quest, bravely default and second, the smt series, and the fire emblem games which are all amazing on the system.
Monster hunter 4 and generations are great action games / boss runners which are very grindy and jrpg adjacent.
Kid Icarus uprising is a great action / shooter.
Monster Hunter stories and the yokai watch games are cute monster collectors that are imo better than the 3ds pokemon games (although the regular ds pokemon games are very good)
Rune factory is a farming jrpg hybrid series where you can recruit monsters to work on your farm. (By the creators of harvest moon)
And then the ace attorney and professor Layton games are two different visual novel / puzzle game franchises that are both very good.
