While this does sound bad “furloughed ” Does not mean fired, the game is getting very good reviews and hopefully makes enough money for the staff to return and work on more projects and DLC for the game.

    2. Working in the games industry is a very gun for hire kinda thing. You spend a few months or a year or so at one place and then move on somewhere else . Developers usually hire big when in serious development then lay off or fire after the game ships.

Thats how it is with alot of western developers. Nintendo for example is famous for hiring devs for decades while Rockstar will hire you for a specific project and then once its done, the jobs over and you move on . Security is not a big thing in the games industry .

    3. So I guess that’s why there’s been radio silence about patches fixing the myriad of issues the game has…

Also xcom style devs remain cursed.

    4. This happens with literally every big game that comes out of a large studio. The exact same as the film industry.

    5. Makes me think it isn’t going to be supported properly with good patching if they aren’t confident enough to at least keep people employed and paid till a few months after launch.
