I have zero faith in film adaptations. It’s all very predictable at this point. I assume we’ll see these headlines in the next few years:
“*Screenwriter of Cyberpunk 2077 film adaptation says he intentionally chose not to play the game*”
“*Director of Cyberpunk 2077 says the film takes ‘inspiration’ from the game but is an original story*”
Screenwriters hate source material because they always think they can do a better job, and they don’t want to just retread someone else’s idea.
bassCity on
Can’t wait to not see it.
despitegirls on
I’m much more interested in the TV show that CDPR and Anonymous Content are working on. I think that format is better for a world that has so much established lore and worldbuilding, even if the story doesn’t follow a character we’re familiar with.
