when i went to visit my friend at the hospital. I looked up and realized that every room has a Kinect. I’m guessing Microsoft sold most of the leftovers to the medical industry to use as cameras and motion detection. Some patients are a fall risk and aren’t allow to get off the bed without support. I’m assuming that is where the motion detection comes in.
I asked a Nurse about it and she said that from what she understands. The Kinect is also used for physical Therapy and surgeons can navigate a screen without touching any mouse and Keyboard. Just use a hand gesture to flick to the next X-ray or whatever they’re trying to look at

Very unpopular opinion, but i miss the kinect features for the core xbox experience, like saying “xbox record that”

The Kinect is used in a lot of research. It’s some pretty good tech that just didn’t make sense for the majority of the gaming population. They still have lots of uses in the medical field too like physical therapy. They are cheap, don’t require wearable sensors to track movement and work pretty well.
