Built a house last year and they ran Ethernet cable to several rooms. After several discussions with the builder and Internet provider, I finally got the builder to send over a network specialist, not the electrician who installed the cabling.

Finally, I have the speeds I should have had all along.

I tested downloading 115gb Halo MCC and the estimated time was under 25 minutes.

    Beautiful.

Can’t wait to play with my two sons tonight!

    1. Such a missed opportunity to put a 2.5gbps NIC in the XSeX. Here’s hoping the Helix has at least that (10gbps would be even better, considering what we’re going to have to pay for RAM/storage on the device, may as well give us something for that)

    2. Another option is to use MoCA adapters if you have a COAX drop in the room. I have a 1 Gbps adapter in the entertainment center connected to a 1 Gbps switch, my download speeds are maxed, and gaming online is stable.

My XSX was seeing a peak Wi-Fi speed of around 200 Mbps and the signal only had 1 wall to go through. I would say the wired average speed is around 800 Mbps, and it will peak at 1 Gbps.

Wi-Fi is great for cellphones and tablets, but it is ass for consoles.
